ELLIPSE COFFEE CABINET

The Ellipse Coffee Cabinet is a beautiful, unique coffee cabinet. I designed and made this cabinet in my second year at Rycotewood Furniture Centre, the project was sponsored by the American Harwood Export Council (AHEC) who supplied the beautiful American red oak for this cabinet. The simple cabinet interior ensures a functional storage space while the sliding tambour doors which wrap around the whole cabinet provide a unique, compact and space saving cabinet. 

The doors are scorched using the Japanese technique of burning wood, Shou Sugi Ban, which gives the cabinet a stunning and striking visual.

This piece was nominated and shortlisted for the 2021 Young Furniture Makers Bespoke Award.
