SYCAMORE ROCKER

A handmade rocking chair made from English rippled sycamore. The chair is made up of components that use the exact same curve. With traditional, hand-cut bridle joints and half-lap joints this rocking chair is built to last and built to rock. 

The sycamore is bleached to turn the sycamore white and remove all blemishes and imperfection to leave a clean and elegant aesthetic. 

The seat is solid sycamore and is carved to give a relief that cradles the user and ensures complete support and comfort. The curved back rest provides effective and ergonomic support of the lower back and the horizontal back rest provides support across the shoulders. 

The shaping on the legs, rockers, arms and supports are all hand carved, using only hand tools, spokeshaves, rasps and files. All the shaping was done by eye to give a true handmade and unique feel and aesthetic to the rocking chair. 

The chair is finished with a high gloss water-based lacquer to provide a beautiful, solid and protective finish to ensure this rocking chair stands up to multiple lifetimes of use.
